Beau-tea-ful Skin Teas.

Bea-tea-ful Skin Tea | The Fig's Heart.

I know a lot of you are tea lovers so today I’m sharing three delicious teas that help promote healthy skin and a radiant complexion!

Silk Road – Beau-tea-ful Skincare Tea.

Ingredients: White and green tea leaves, rooibos, calendula, lemon balm, peppermint, citrus peel, lemongrass, lavender.

Their ingredient list is simple and highly effective. I always keep this tea on hand and often give it out as a gift. It’s my favourite of the three and my morning staple! White teas are the least processed and have the highest amount of antioxidants while green teas contain the most potent antioxidants. Combined, these teas will offer your skin protection from free radical damage to promote a younger and smoother complexion. Peppermint teas are typically known for offering relief from nausea and coping with physical/mental stress. The anti-inflammatory properties can also help improve the condition of oily skin and encourage new skin cell growth.

“Beautiful skin begins within. Drink 3 to 4 cups daily to replenish, hydrate and nourish your complexion from the inside out. This tea of radiant beauty is expertly blended with a powerful combination of ingredients renowned for their anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory compounds, and which are associated with promoting a vibrant and radiant complexion. Beau-TEA-ful Skincare Tea combines ancient chinese wisdom and the latest research on healthy skin to create a daily elixir that is delicious and refreshing.”

Beautiful Skin Teas.

Yogi Tea – Skin Detox.

Ingredients: Burdock root, cardamom seed, dandelion root, organic green tea leaf, hibiscus flower, honeybush, orange peel, oregon grape root, red clover, rose petal, stevia leaf, yellow dock root, natural/organic flavour.

Another classic, I love Yogi Teas. Burdock root contains anti-fungal and antibiotic qualities that help fight against the bacteria that causes acne. Adding burdock root to your daily regimen will help to detoxify the skin tissues and reduce inflammation, especially for angry or acneic skin.

“Fragrant rose petal and hibiscus, used in Ayurveda to cool and soothe the skin, entice the senses with a fresh, floral scent. We then add Organic Green Tea that supplies antioxidants to promote a sense of rejuvenation while Burdock and Yellow Dock (traditionally used to support the liver) combine with Red Clover to promote cleansing.”

David’s Tea – The Glow.

All organic ingredients: Cinnamon, rosehip, nettle leaf, rooibos, rose petal, marigold, natural peach/pomegranate flavouring.

There are only a few select David’s Teas that I keep on hand. I don’t like a lot of the added flavouring in some of their teas, but the organic collection has a few gems. Rooibos teas have been used for many years in South Africa and are known for benefiting a range of skin issues like eczema, rashes, and sunburn. Even if you don’t have any of those skin conditions, Rooibos is still beneficial as it’s packed with nutrients and antioxidants that help maintain clear and healthy skin.

“This light, floral elixir is all about beauty. That’s why it has rooibos, which is basically a liquid spa. It also boasts traditional stars like rose petal, rosehip and marigold. And time-honoured nourisher like nettle leaf. Plus there’s cinnamon, Ayurveda’s complexion saver. Just steeping it makes you glow.”

Do you have a favourite skin-enhancing tea?

  • Hehe I have the skin detox one at my desk right now! The Silk Road one looks and sounds amazing – why are all of the Canadian brands so amazing? Haha.

    • Sounds like we’ll have to set up a little tea exchange! Or if I ever make it over to Seattle I’ll bring extra ;)
