You know that question people ask where they make you imagine you’re trapped on an island and you’re forced to pick one thing to eat for the rest of your life? Well that’s an easy answer for me because I’m not trapped on a island and I enjoy the same smoothie almost every morning. I slowly perfected the design of this recipe to the exact consistency and flavour I wanted. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
1/2 – 1 frozen banana slightly thawed (depending on how much you like banana)
3/4 cup frozen raspberries
1 scoop Vega powder (I use the chocolate flavour)
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp dried lavender buds
1/2 cup coconut water
1 cup almond milk (I use the unsweetened Earth’s Own Almond Fresh or make my own)
Blend together until smooth.
For those mornings that take longer than normal to wake up, I like to make little adjustments to this recipe for some extra energy! I replace the lavender buds with a large handful of fresh mint leaves for a mint-chocolate smoothie. I also like to switch the coconut water for pure cranberry juice to make a tart/sour smoothie (not with mint version).
I really can’t enjoy any smoothie without a straw. I don’t know what it is, but I can’t. I felt bad wasting disposable straws every morning so I bought these stainless steel straws!
