Chanel Spring 2014 Makeup Collection.

Chanel Spring 2014 Collection.

I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I would be getting my makeup done for the Chanel Spring 2014 Collection launch in Victoria. The palette for this collection is gorgeous. It’s fresh, floral, and playful. Soft pastel pinks and corals are paired with royal gemstone shades like emerald and silver. Getting my makeup done by one of the artists was such a great way to try different shades that I wouldn’t normally wear and learn more about the collection. I was taking notes the whole time like a total nerd and asking the artist a ton of questions. I also got to try the whole Hydra-Beauty skincare line which I’m really excited about (more on that coming soon!). I decided to base my makeup look for the day off the Les 4 Ombres Tissé Vénetian 232 eyeshadow palette (shown below).

How beautiful is this eyeshadow!? The shades come in a variety of effects (matte, satin, iridescent, and metallic) and they blend together beautifully. You can create endless looks with this long wearing eyeshadow. The artist started by applying the pale pink shade all over my lid. This might be my favourite colour of the whole collection, it’s so pretty and as a day look I would wear it all on it’s own. Then she applied the green to my socket line and blended it really well into the outer corner of the eye. This lovely emerald shade pairs so well with the pink, I’m in love with it. She added the darker granite colour to the outer lash line just to intensify the eye since we decided to go without liner for this look. She finished the eye by adding a touch of the metallic silver to the middle of my lid for a hint of glamour! I am really happy how these shades came together so well. They capture that fresh Spring feeling and actually match the blossoming cherry trees outside!

Since the main focus of this look was the eyes, we finished with a soft coral blush: Le Blush Crème de Chanel in Présage 62 and a subtle pink lip gloss: Lèvres Scintillantes in Plaisir 164 (one of my favourites). This silky smooth cream blush can be applied easily with fingertips and blends beautifully onto the skin. It can be worn softly on the cheeks or built up for a more vibrant look. I’ve always been one to use a pressed powder blush but I absolutely love the formula of this cream blush. It comes in 7 gorgeous shades, I’d love to try some of the others.
