After a late night watching the election results, it felt like I woke up to the Grinch stealing Christmas yesterday morning. Hear me out…I felt a pit in my stomach and a sense of mourning and loss, but throughout the day I heard the faint sounds of all the Who’s down in Whoville joining together and singing ‘Welcome Christmas’. The signing got louder and louder as more people joined in. It was beautiful and uplifting reading the responses that people had to this election. We woke up with a common pain and sadness inside us but instead of connecting over fear and panic we connected over love. It’s mature and beautiful and I hope that people are really proud to be a part of this movement even if they aren’t proud of the leader who was selected. We energetically joined hands with those around us by sharing positive words and hope. It was one of those moments when social media felt like so much more than social media.
