Impassioned is a beautiful pink Amplified Creme Lipstick by MAC that gives a creamy matte finish. It’s one of their most popular lipstick formulas because it’s creamy, pigmented, and glossy. I wore this shade for the first time last weekend and found it to be really long wearing. I touched up my lips once or twice during the day by just dabbing a little extra colour onto the centre and by the time I took it off later that day it still looked just as good. I used it with a clear lip liner and it didn’t bleed or feather at all (which I was afraid of). The creamy texture didn’t dry out my lips but I would recommend exfoliating your lips before applying. If you have dry lips, the colour will cling to any flakes and make the finish look messy. I wore a little bit of lip balm underneath to help prevent any drying and also really conditioned my lips as soon as I took the lipstick off later in the day.
This was a pretty bold colour for my personality. Impassioned is a very happy pink though and after a couple hours of wearing it I started to feel comfortable. It’s bright in a way that makes people smile without completely blinding them. MAC calls it an amplified fuchsia. I think it’s a perfect shade for summer because it’s fun, flirty, and classic. Most pink lipstick lovers will already have this in their collection. But if you don’t, I recommend picking this one up. It’s one you will wear time and time again.
I made a quick trip to Vancouver last weekend and got to spend a couple days with two lovely friends. I thought this would be the perfect time to give a new lipstick shade a try. Impassioned it was! Surprisingly it lasted through brunch, an eyebrow threading appointment, afternoon coffee, and a few hours walking and shopping around town. I happily give it a rating of 4.5 lipstick emojis.
