This is the most gentle and effective diy face mask and most of you will have everything you need already waiting in your fridge. If you don’t take probiotics, you can skip this ingredient and simply use the plain yogurt. (Don’t go and buy probiotics just for the mask). Greek yogurt contains an enzyme called lactose which dissolves dirt and bacteria found on the skin. It acts as a natural exfoliator while nourishing and moisturizing at the same time. The yogurt will contain a low amount of probiotics already, but adding the probiotic capsule will help to invigorate the skin and leave your face with a healthy glow. This combination will also reduce redness and help to calm breakouts. Even though I’ve done this many many times, I’m always surprised with how silky soft my face feels afterwards. Here’s what you need:
2 tbsp cold greek yogurt (plain only!)
1 probiotic capsule
cotton pad/face cloth
Split open the probiotic capsule and mix it into your greek yogurt. Try to scoop out the thicker part of the yogurt, not the really runny part. Use a cotton pad to apply an even layer of the mixture all over your face, leaving little circles around your eyes. Let this sit for 10 minutes or so and then rinse off with a face cloth and cool water. Pat your skin to dry and follow with a hydrating toner/moisturizer. Your face will feel so soft and any redness or inflammation should be reduced. I love doing this one before bed because the cool yogurt is very relaxing.
