Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream

The weather hit below zero here in Victoria over the weekend. This drastic drop in temperature has definitely made my skin a little dry. I’ve been using the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Cream to moisturize every morning and I’m really impressed. This formula is designed for sensitive skin (which can come with weather change) and even though it’s made with rich ingredients like jojoba and avocado, it doesn’t make my skin oily at all. Goat’s milk naturally has lactic acid in it which helps the pH balance of the skin and gently exfoliates to create a smooth surface. This ingredient has been used to heal and nurture the body for many years.

The formula is really thin and absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving any sticky or oily residue (see image below). It has the faintest scent, simple and clean smelling. I actually really like it. I bought this cream earlier in the year before I got into the green-beauty scene. I started using it again about a month ago when the weather got colder and my skin has been loving it. It’s not 100% natural but it’s made with high quality ingredients that are designed to nourish, hydrate, and protect the skin. It’s one of the only moisturizers I’ve found that really hydrates my skin without feeling heavy or oily (even if I use a serum or oil with it!). I can wear this under my makeup every morning without feeling like I have a several layers on my face.

Kate Somerville products are made in Los Angeles and the design of this line is genius. As you press down on the surface of the jar, a small amount of  cream is dispensed for you to use. This way no bacteria will build up in the jar from your hands touching it and the cream will stay pure until the moment you apply it to your face. Very impressive Kate! There are a few other moisturizers in her line worth trying. Nourish is designed for all skin types and it’s a favourite among many skin care experts. I would highly recommend this cream if you’re not strict about using only 100% natural products.
