Wake Up Eyes With Nude Eyeliner.

Have you tried wearing a nude or white eyeliner on your bottom lash line? This eye-brightening trick has been popular for a while but it took me until a few weeks ago to actually get around to trying it. I don’t have a lot of redness around my eyes, so I never thought it was necessary. But then again I write a beauty blog so I should probably give it a shot right? I initially went to the store to pick up a white eyeliner but after talking with one of the girls she convinced me to purchase a nude shade instead. The nude colour blends in with the natural shade of your waterline to brighten and counterbalance redness without looking like you’re wearing anything. I was shocked how well this worked. If you need to fake a good night sleep, this is your savour!

Use clean hands to gently pull your bottom lash line down. Apply the liner to the inner rim of your eye (yes, it sounds a little gross). This technique gives you a seamless “invisible” eyeliner that really opens and brightens your eyes. I picked up a few different brands to see how a drug store pick would compare to something a little more pricey.

Rimmel London Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude ($5.00). For the price of this eyeliner it’s awesome. Since it’s waterproof it stays in place for a long time and doesn’t smudge. The formula is nice and smooth and the nude colour was a perfect match for me. A great eyeliner for someone wanting to give this trick a try.

MAC Chromagraphic Pencil in NC15/NW20 ($16.00). This one blended nicely but since it isn’t waterproof it ended up sliding into the corners of my eyes and collecting up a bit by the end of the day. It’s a multi-purpose pencil so I think it’s a good one to have, but maybe not specifically for tightlining your bottom lash line.

Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Bare/Nude ($23.00). If you’re looking for a great nude liner, this is the one. It lasts throughout the whole day without smudging or sliding around. It comes in self sharpening packaging and has a wonderfully creamy texture that glides right onto your waterline. It’s a little more pricey, but worth the money.
