Odylique Skincare is a British brand that specializes in organic skincare for sensitive and allergy-prone skin. I really admire the simple and intentional ingredients that make up each of their products. They have been supplying natural skincare to people all over the UK and surrounding countries for over 30 years and now they are launching in North America! I received a generous box of goodies to try and I picked a few favourites to share with you today.
The Creamy Coconut Cleanser is one of their best sellers and caught my eye right away. This creamy blend of extra virgin olive and coconut oils condition the skin while lifting away makeup, impurities, and dirt. Organic rose water and essential oils of eucalyptus, clary sage, and lemon calm the skin and thoroughly cleanse/detoxify. I’ve been using this as a gentle morning cleanser. Because it’s a milky cream cleanser it doesn’t provide the skin with that squeaky-clean feeling that I tend to crave after a long day. I have combination skin that tends to get oily so this is a lovely morning cleanser for me but someone with dry or sensitive skin would probably really enjoy using this twice a day! It doesn’t have a strong smell and it leaves the skin very soft and hydrated.
I also got a little tub of their Organic Coconut Candy Scrub. This deliciously smelling body exfoliator is a tropical treat that will leave your skin silky smooth and polished. A combination of fair trade cane sugar and poppy seeds deeply exfoliate while virgin coconut oil and cacao bean butter moisturize and hydrate the skin. I love this product and I’ve been savouring it so I don’t run out. I’ve also used a little on my lips before applying lipstick to give them a good buff. Mmm mmm!
Odylique was founded and is still run by a mother-daughter team. All their products are made by hand in Suffolk, UK. “Our 30-year focus on sensitive skin means that we also have a unique position on potential allergens. We avoid all synthetic chemical irritants and possible allergens like artificial fragrance. In addition, we also exclude lanolin, wheat, dairy and soya derivatives, salicylic acid, peanut oil, common allergen tree nut oils, and more. Our products are tested on a panel of human volunteers who have sensitive and allergy-prone skin. We NEVER test on animals. We ensure that our raw material suppliers and all our distributors follow the same policy.” I’ll be sharing more on some of their other products like the Gentle Herb Shampoo and Calming Rose Super Tonic in future posts.
